For almost nine years, she protested at the railway station in Delhi with her two children. Then the Government gave her the Malcha Mahal to live in. But the castle was in a poor condition, and there was no water and electricity.
Begum Wilayat committed suicide at the age of 62. Her children, Prince Ali Raza and Princess Shakeena continued to live there. Prince Ali Raja was also later found dead in the castle. In 1857, Captain Hodson killed the Bahadur Shah Zafar's sons and grandson Mirza Mughal, Mirza Khizr Sultan, and Mirza Abu Bakht brutally. He naked them and shot them in front of the crowd.
